All Glory to Father God that we were able to serve as LOTS# Alberton again.
It is a bit of a roller-coaster ride as we go out in faith as to what we may encounter at our various stops where people sleep.
In our outgoing prayer we :
- Ask for open doors to spread the gospel (Colossians 4: 2,3) 2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; 3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ…
- Ask for open eyes (minds) to receive the gospel (Acts 26: 17,18) Paul’s testimony before King Agrippa of Jesus’ words to him: 17 I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, 18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
- Ask for open hearts to embrace the gospel (2 Corinthians 4: 5,6) 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
- Ask for open heavens that the gospel may run swiftly (Isaiah 45: 6) “Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. I, the Lord, have created it.
- And then from 2 Thessalonians 3: 1,2 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.
The height of the said roller-coaster ride for me was ‘the man who left in a huff last week’ because he did not get the money he was asking for, was validated during the week by Liz who bought his baby milk and nappies. This time he was here again, with his wife and the cutest of little baby girls snugly wrapped, and I have to apologise publicly for assuming, but also not totally wrong because their current fate is due to his use of crystal meths.
The down-side of said ride was that, despite the cold wind, the EMPD had raided sheltered areas again and confiscated many of our brothers belongings in the form of blankets and bedding, that which they cannot carry – this is not humane, to say the least, since the EMPD offer no alternative abode … lets hold these vulnerable people up in prayer, as with the EMPD – should you have an extra blanket or two, to donate, please feel free to contact us at any time.
